Open-cell ceramic filters are advanced filtering solutions widely used in the casting industry for the purification of molten metals. Featuring a highly porous 3D structure, these filters effectively remove impurities, reduce turbulence in the molten metal flow, and significantly improve the overall quality of cast products.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Available in different porosity grades (customizable for various casting processes)

  • High thermal resistance (up to 1700 °C depending on the ceramic material)

  • Improved mechanical strength of cast parts

  • Enhanced surface finish and reduced porosity in final products

  • Suitable for a wide range of alloys including steel, iron, and non-ferrous alloys

Raw Materials:

  • Alumina (Al₂O₃)

  • Silicon Carbide (SiC)

  • Zirconium Carbide (ZrC)

Manufactured through the polymer sponge replication method, these filters are produced by impregnating polyurethane foam with a ceramic slurry, followed by drying, burning out the polymer, and high-temperature sintering. The result is a durable, highly porous ceramic filter designed to withstand extreme casting conditions.
